Profile – Moving Portraits

A few weeks ago, my friend Chris and I went down to the Birmingham Christmas Market to do a shoot, featuring the lights and general environment. Chris then used his magic and wizardry to take stills of me and compiled them into video form – a crafty genius, with a lot of patience.

This was as we spoke about one million and one things, and I took pictures of the surrounding environment. Mostly lit by bar and stall lights, it was very crowded – this made it quite perfect to get shots from, as there was very direct light around us: Read more on that in the previous post Christmas Market Lights from last year.

Here is the 1st of 2 videos that Chris shot and cut together. Capturing one of my favourite projects of 2018, by far. We had this day planned in the diary for a few months prior and there was no expectation for the end product – when I received it, I was more than exited at how it turned out:

Here is the 2nd one that Chris graciously created in addition:

This has inspired me to look further into these types of projects and also look forward to more collaborative work with Chris. I’d encourage you to go and do that one thing you said you wanted to do, but haven’t started just yet.
